Throught 2012 Weymouth will be at the heart of a full programme of arts events which promise something for everybody.
World class outdoor theatre, earth science and art, open-air mass choir performances, visual arts, multi-media arts festivals, panoramic video projections, participative music, dance and celebrations; this is the Maritime Mix – London 2012 Cultural Olympiad by the Sea.
Animating Weymouth, Portland and the Jurassic Coast this unique creative celebration will deliver a once in a lifetime experience; celebrating the location as the 2nd largest venue outside the capital as host to the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic sailing. Maritime Mix – London 2012 Cultural Olympiad by the Sea will deliver the complete Olympic experience with over 80 inspirational events over 2012.
The extensive programme of events and creative talent featured in Maritime Mix – London 2012 Cultural Olympiad by the Sea has only been possible due to funding from Arts Council England, Legacy Trust UK and with the support of local authorities including; Dorset County Council, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council and local tourism partnerships.
